Each region is 2 mm thick. The 6 regions were embedded in the same OCT block. The frozen section panel cut from this block can enable scientists or research investigators do biochemical analysis, such as the determination of neurotransmitter and metabolite concentrations for reproducible brain regions (i.e. discrete terminal fields or nuclei).
